Fraction Pizzas!

Last week we finished our unit on fractions.  We made these cute little fraction pizza posters to hang up.  In first grade we really just touch on the basics of fractions but this activity was fun because it lets me differentiate a little.

Then as a final activity we actually made real fraction pizzas.  We used English muffins, sauce, cheese and pepperonis.  The kids were so excited to make their own mini pizzas.

They REALLY enjoyed their creations!

Here's the note I send home for parents who have volunteered to send in something for our pizzas.

  2. Vacanza Pizzeria (meaning holidays in Italian) recently opened its own location in Surry Hills and continues to make delicious pizza as well as antipasto, stone-baked lasagna and other foods. This place is where simplicity is the main ingredient: authentic Italian-style pies such as those offered at Napoli. Our Samurai was especially impressed with "la brace" with its mixture of fennel sausages and goat's cheese.
